Why Wilton?
Many autism services exist today, yet few are lead by actually autistic people.
This sends the message that autistic folks:

-
don't understand our own strengths and needs
-
don't know how to support each other
Neither of which are true.

Autistic people have important skills and insights that are often unique to the autism spectrum. My role as an autism mentor and peer support worker, is to help you identify & use them.
My practice aims to be anti-oppressive. I seek to provide support that is:

-
anti-ableist
-
anti-racist*
-
anti-classist
-
LGBTQ+ positive
-
poly, kink, & sex work positive
-
disability friendly
-
trauma-informed
-
spiritually-focused (if desired)

*As a white English settler, I'm always open to feedback on ways to do better by Indigenous, Black, and other clients of colour.
Wilton Autism WELLNESS is a life-affirming care practice.

social service agencies
-
mental health agencies

My studies include various specialized forms of knowledge and skill sets, with emphasis on principles such as relational practice and strengths-based care.
Education
Experience
My lived experiences as an autistic person also intersect with many of my other identities . . . queer, disabled, and femme, to name a few. I know how important it can be to receive support from those who can relate.

I have been offering guidance and support about autism and related experiences to friends, family, and strangers for about two years.

I spend a lot of time reading and analyzing literature on autism, some of which you will find on here. In June 2017, I presented at the OACYC (provincial) Conference about autism-informed care. In the fall, I will be presenting similar information to CYC undergraduate students.
